My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOOKING FOR A NICE CALM HOME:  Approx. 14 years old / Approx. 10 lbs.

Hi, my name is Priscilla!  I lived a good life once my mom rescued me – I don’t remember what life was like before that.  She is an amazing animal lover, advocate and rescuer!  In fact, my mom helped Mostly Mutts secure their current rescue building so that hundreds of pets could be saved every year!  Now she’s in memory care and needs our help in finding her beloved pets new homes. I’m one of them and I’m looking for an amazing family (like my mom has been) to love and care for me for the rest of my life. I’m in a wonderful foster home waiting for my new family to adopt and give me a great home for my golden years.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog and lived with several dogs previously.  I have been overall fine with the dogs in my foster home – as long as they don’t want to play with me or get too close to me while I’m in one of my dog beds – then I’ll fuss at them and try to run them off.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, but I’m an older lady and haven’t lived with kids, so if you have much older calm teens, we can meet and see how we do together. No young kids.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  In my foster home, I’m a sweet girl who is a curious little explorer of my surroundings.  I’m not super playful, but I am loyal to my person and simply want to be near them and know where they are.  If I doze off and you leave the room, I’ll come find you when I wake and plop down in whatever dog bed is closest to you.  Though not cuddly, I’d be a great companion for someone who is home a good bit and would enjoy a quiet little friend to hang out on a dog bed near them. My foster says that I’m like a Hoover vacuum cleaner and will eat anything on the floor, but I’m on a sensitive stomach diet, so don’t let me. I did not do well at the Mostly Mutts shelter, and I was defensive as there were too many people and too much going on there – so peace and quiet is my jam. / My energy level is 3 - 5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t know any specific skills/commands and have selective hearing – lol!  At first, we though I was hard of hearing, but my foster says that I hear what I want to hear – she says I’m a darling little stinker. / I’m not crated in my foster home and am not at all happy when separated from my person by the baby gate. I sleep in bed with my foster in my own little dog bed. / I do pretty well with my potty skills during the day on a frequent take-out schedule, about every 3-4 hours. At night, I have learned to get out of bed, walk to the master bathroom and use a potty pad there.  Then I’ll put myself back to bed and this has worked well for me.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  The thing I love best is just being with my people.  Next would be lots of dog beds throughout the house, followed by butt and ear scratches. I also enjoy short walks. / Other than not liking dogs in my space which I mentioned above, and too many people or too much going on, etc., I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and good care.  I also don’t like being picked up if I don’t know that’s what you are going to do.  I’m fine with it as long as I know it’s going to happen.  I seem fearful when folks reach over my head, but I’ve been good when folks pet me from the side or under my chin – just let me see you.  I guess I startle easily at times and just want to be aware of what’s going on.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have a grade 3/5 heart murmur that doesn’t require medication at this time, of course it should be monitored and may need meds in the future.  I’m missing most of my teeth, but that doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind. I have a sensitive stomach, so I eat special food for that.  Not to worry as I’m a little thing and don’t eat a lot.

I am looking for a calm and peaceful home where I can enjoy my retirement time!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
