My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Both Jefe and his littermate brother Fuego  have been acting as LGDs for goats on 40 acres in WY.  They lived outdoors, primarily in a 40' x 40' pen and shared a 140 sq feet dog house.

Jefe is the kind gentle one, he likes small dogs and recently met owner's 6 year old granddaughter and reacted great to her rubbing his belly. He is known by neighbors as a the gentle giant.

Both boys need to be neutered which we hope to have done before they are moved.  They are currently living with their owner in WY but due to her very severe allergies they need to be moved ASAP.

At this point the intent is for the two boys to be adopted together as LGDs.

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
