UPDATE!! Vinny's story is a joy to tell! He came to us full of fear and uncertainty but his gentle spirit was always evident with every wag of his tail. Wary at first, he was cautiously approaching for a quick lick or sniff and now he is seeking affection regularly, even climbing up into his foster dad's lap. Foster dad says, "He will crawl toward me in the morning and roll over onto his back for belly rubs and to be scratched under his chin. He jumps up and down like a pogo stick at my rear sliding door along with Bear when it's time to eat. He loves his food! He also adores car rides anywhere and watches everything that goes on outside of the car." Vinny LOVES playing with other dogs and being outdoors. He is housebroken and doesn't get into any trouble when left outside of his crate when Dad is gone for an hour or two. Though we know adjustment challenges lie ahead when he goes to a new home, Vinny is ready. He will require a fenced yard and would do best in a home with another friendly and playful dog. Unfortunately, Vinny did retest a very light positive for heartworms on his retest. After treatment. We are doing another month of doxycycline and our optimistic he will not have to have injections again.
