🎵Well, I was raised up beneath the shade of a Maryland pine, and that's home, you know Sweet kibble, punkin pie, and homemade snacks, where the milk bones grow.... 🎵And my house, wasn't much to talk about But it's gone now. And a little bit of chicken fried Pup cups on a Friday night A harness lead that fits just right And the radio up I like to see the sunrise...🎵 See the love in my volunteer's eyes Feel the crunch of a good chew bone And know a good friend's love🎵
Hey there! They call me Big Mike. Some folks know me as Shooter. That's what I am-a straight shooter. No fuss no muss. What you see is what you get. I thought I'd start you out with a song to get you singing. My tale is a sad one but I'm not singing a sad song. This here is the life I want. You and me and some good snacks. I'm not singing about being left here twice. They said stay. And I did. And I waited. But that's in the past. That's not me anymore. I'm Looking for a new home. TLC. Talks, love and coffee. Wait they said don't give me coffee bad idea. Training, Love and Commitment that's my song. Can you dig it? Come sing with me! 🎤I'll do the drums.🥁 I'm an amazing low key dog. Once I get past those yappers. Don't give up on me, we can do great things together.
This isn't my first rodeo. I've been here before. Nice folks. Good eats. Nice yard and pools. A real fancy B&B. I'm back because the other cowboy at my ranch wanted to start stuff and I'm not going to put up with that mess. We parted ways. It hurt my heart my people didn't pick me. I'm not one to dwell on the past. Onward and upward I always say. I'm a nice guy. I walk by all the yappers on my row ok. I'm neat and do not mess in my bunk. I'd like to find some new folks to mosey down the trail with. I'm pretty easy. I could use a little exercise I guess. I've let myself go a little. (84 pounds oh boy... a few too many burgers!) Time to tone things up if I'm going to get me a new family. Maybe you could come and check me out? We could exercise together and get to know each other. Maybe I can be your one and only. Those other critters stress me out. I sure would like to be someone's #1. I won't let you down. I'm a stand up guy. Ask for Big Mike or Shooter. 🤠

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
