Hi there. Thanks for looking at my story. My name is Evie Rose, but you can call me Evie.
I recently found myself in need of a new home, and Angels came to my rescue. They call me a Black Labrador mix but with a unique low-rider twist. And I'm not just cute, I also have a silky black coat and white-tipped back toes, pretty brown eyes, and a long tongue that I use to give lots of kisses.
I am about 2 years old and weigh between 65-70 lbs. I might need to lose a little weight, but that shouldn’t be too hard because I love doing zoomies in the yard or playing chase with my foster brother. I adore being with my humans, and while I can initially be a bit anxious, shy, and bark at first meetings, all I need is a little time to adjust. Just give me a few minutes, and I will be your new best friend.
I am a true outdoor enthusiast, always eager to explore new scents, roll around in the grass, and engage in a thrilling run. I also enjoy a bit of bird-watching. However, I am unsure what the human wants me to do when she throws a ball. I will run to see where it went, but I don't know what to do after that. I'm sure with a little guidance, we can turn this into a fun game.
The retriever in me loves to get toys to bring to you or hide in my crate. I love to play with other dogs, so if you have another four-legged pup who likes to play, I’m your girl. In fact, I warm up to other dogs faster than humans sometimes, but I still enjoy spending time with two-legged creatures.
I am a good girl. I don’t chew things not given to me, but again, I might pick something up and keep it close. I am house-trained (but you need to help me learn where to go outside) and I sleep well in my crate and when humans go out. I get very excited when my foster family comes home, and I sometimes jump. I am starting to get the hint, though, that is not something I should do since they don’t give me attention when I jump. I know commands like sit and lay down, but then I like to roll over and smile, so you give me for belly rubs. I enjoy walking on my leash, but I'm learning to be even better.
I would enjoy a forever home where I get lots of attention, maybe have a yard, and a 4 legged friend would be a bonus. Do you think I might be the one for you?
