My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl we named Lacy was found abandoned and searching for refuge on the streets of Houston. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see just how many dogs there are in need of exactly what we hope to find for Lacy: a loving home. They're all deserving and Lacy is no exception. She's playful, friendly and sweet. She's estimated to have been born around early 2023. She's now spayed, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped making her ready for adoption! We think Lacy would make a nice addition to almost any family looking for a fun, loyal companion (although we prefer one without cats as she was a bit too interested in the one we introduced her to). We also think Lacy would be an amazing companion if you are active and outdoorsy - she would be a great friend to have along and would really thrive while keeping physically and mentally stimulated. She's been very playful with the other dogs we've introduced her to. Lacy has a gorgeous brindle coat and weighs around 47 lbs. If interested in providing Lacy with a loving home, please email for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org

Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dogs go to a "forever" loving, nurturing home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.

Go meet their pets

We provide adoption opportunities for those living in the Northeast who are willing to do long distance adoptions. Many of our dogs live in Wharton, Texas but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.

More about this rescue

Smiling Dog Farms is a 501(c) non-profit animal rescue. We strive to restore hope to the forgotten, neglected and rejected unwanted dogs and puppies rescued from the streets and local kill-shelters. Each dog that enters our rescue receives their full round of vaccinations, gets spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and placed on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Many of our dogs live in Wharton Texas, but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.
