My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apache’s Story: We will never know how this devastatingly-gorgeous boy with the melting, almond-shaped eyes ended up in a Michigan kill shelter, but we sure are glad we had room and transport resources when he DID!

About Apache: We just took Apache into foster in the past few days, but the "rave reviews" are already starting to come in! He has stolen the hearts of all his transporters, and his foster mom has already begun repeating how tempted she is to adopt him herself! So, if he has caught your eye -- HURRY! He's capturing hearts, too, and won't be available for long!

From a transporter: "This dog is GORGEOUS and he didn't make a peep in the crate in my car all the way to Cathy's. He is so sweet and so calm -- hard to believe he's just a young boy! He may still be scared or bewildered, but he was a dream to handle."

And from his foster mom, after he arrived: "Apache is a darling. I haven't taken any new pictures of him but he's a gorgeous sweetie. Very thin but we'll take care of getting some weight on him in no time! He ate well last night, didn't quite finish this morning. His tail went up soon as he arrived when he heard the other dogs wooing at him. Robin, who did the last leg of the transport, said it was the first time she'd seen it! When the storms moved in last night and we assembled the dogs inside, he was a champ and caused no problems at all, even though he'd barely been here 24 hours. You're gonna' LOVE him! He's fairly subdued so far, and probably about 2 years old judging from his teeth. I haven't heard him make a sound yet. Wait until you see him though, you are going to just die for this guy. It would be soooo easy to "foster fail" fail with this boy, though the last thing I need is another! :)."

Updates: More coming soon!

This dog's adoption donation is $200. If you know how much it costs to give a new dog responsible vet care, you can easily see that this is quite a bargain! He has had a complete health exam, has already been neutered, is microchipped, has tested negative for heartworm, has been kept on heartworm and flea preventative, is fully vaccinated and free of parasites.
