My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kit takes a little time to warm up to someone but once you`ve gained his trust, he`s happy to shed his lovely white fur all over your lap. He shows his happiness by purring effectively and looking soulfully in your eyes. Kit has weathered a lot is proving to be a sweet, responsive cat that is fully house-ready: appropriately responding to `no,` playing with cat toys instead of fingers, settling in on a lap with ease and litter-box trained. He`s also honed his skills at communicating dinner time!

Kit has socialized well with the other resident cats in Kitty City. He is an adult cat (estimated to between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 12.2 pounds.

Kit just received a full dental cleaning on 5/16 and 17 teeth were extracted.

Kit`s adoption fee is waived! In addition, Valley Humane will provide the first 6 months of his prescription diet to his adopter.

Additional adoption info

Adopters must be at least 21 years of age, or 18 years with a co-adopter age 21+ at the same residence, and provide legal ID showing current address to verify age. Potential adopters should understand that VHS reserves the right to deny any adoption for any reason. We recommend that all adults in the household meet the adoptive animal. Resident dogs must undergo a "meet and greet" with the adoptive animal prior to approval.

Fill out an adoption application (available at VHS) and speak to one of our adoption counselors. Upon approval, additional paperwork will be completed, including adoption agreement. Please allow approximately one hour to complete the full process.

Adoptions are processed on a first come, first served basis; because of this, animals seen on this site may no longer be available by the time you arrive at our adoption center. Likewise, there may be animals in our facility whose pictures haven't made it to the website yet! Feel free to call ahead for information.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Valley Humane conducts adoptions by appointment only. Adopters are asked to submit an online adoption inquiry form. Once received, an adoption counselor will reach out via telephone to conduct an adoption interview. Animals posted to the website are ready to go home and applicants are typically called the same day as the Inquiry Form is received.

If approved, we will schedule an adoption appointment for the applicant and the animal at our facility in Pleasanton.

More about this rescue

Valley Humane Society (VHS) is working to create a brighter future for cats and dogs by encouraging and strengthening the bond between people and pets.

Beyond rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned companion animals, VHS supports and preserves existing pet-guardian relationships through pioneering partnerships with groups like Hope Hospice and Bay Area food banks. VHS Canine Comfort teams share the soothing affections of pets with those who need it most, and our humane education programs for children and scouts champion responsible pet caretaking.

Our vision of a world in which every animal is loved and every person knows the love of an animal can be achieved by continuing to work hand in hand with the community, bringing together compassionate, dedicated people for the good of all. Whether you’d like to adopt an animal, share your passion for pets, or meet like-minded people, VHS is Your Means to a Friend™. We invite you to join us!

VHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that receives no government funds, tax dollars, or money from national humane organizations. Our programs and services are available because of the generosity of caring and compassionate private donors.
