Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! My name is Lolah and I am an approximately 9 year old chocolate female that weighs about 53 pounds. My foster mom says that I'm very sweet and a good listener. Everyone I've met has commented on how sweet I am. And everyone says I'm such a good girl! I take treats gently, I love belly rubs and want to be near wherever you are, sitting or laying down near you. I am crate trained and potty trained. I walk great on a leash and don't pull or bark at other people or dogs when I'm out. I don't even really bark when the doorbell rings, and I don't jump up on people. Pretty great so far, right?!
Before coming into foster, I lived with lots and lots of dogs and was used as a breeder. I am learning how to be retired and quite enjoy it! Right now I live with my foster doggie brother and we get along, but I'm not really into playing with him. I would be great as a solo dog, but I would be fine with another mellow dog. I am enjoying being in a real home and not having to compete for everything. I have met some cats and I was fine with them, but it's been while since I've been around one. I don't think I've really had any toys before, so I'm not sure how to play with them.
When someone says no, I listen. I'm mellow and will hang out with you all day if you let me!
When I first came into SCLRR I had a growth on my belly, but the vet removed it and says it was just a benign growth. I've also had a dental, blood and urine tests and the vet says I'm healthy and ready to go!
I would prefer to go to a home where people are not away from home for very long hours because I'm very mellow and sweet, and I just want to be with my person.
I should also be with a family that doesn't leave me in the yard alone when they're gone because I might figure out a way to get out and come looking for my family. I wasn't fed enough in my old home, so now I can be very food motivated. So watch out when you leave the house, because I might counter surf and eat whatever food I can jump and reach. The good news is that other than possibly finding food, I'm perfectly well behaved when left alone in the house.
I sure would love to have a loving forever family who will take me on walks and give me love and scratch my ears and give me belly rubs. I am very loving, sweet, and gentle.
If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
