This little one was spotted by a young man who saw her on the street and thought she was a very pretty bird. He casually snapped a photo and sent it to a friend to enjoy, too. That friend passed it to another, who just happened to be one of Palomacy's volunteers. The volunteer spotted the bands on the pigeon and immediately instructed that the pigeon must be saved due to being domestic. Within minutes, the original finder sprinted back to the location and scooped her up without question! The simple act of snapping a photo and sharing it saved Waffle's life, as when she was brought to Palomacy, she was still a baby and extremely underweight. Sadly, we think her right wing was pinioned (intentional surgical removal of crucial wing bones) to stop her from flying. We suspect she must have been intended to train hunting dogs, or used for some other horrific thing. But all of that is past her now. She is safe, gaining weight, becoming stronger by the day. Soon she'll be ready for adoption! Please apply to adopt http://www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
