Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Davy Crockett was known as the King of the Wild Frontier, but the only thing our Crockett wants to be king of is the castle! Your castle to be precise! All dogs deserve to find loving homes, and Crockett is no exception- he’s a special dog who has bounced around throughout his life and truly deserves to have a forever home and a loving family of his own.
Crockett spent several months in a foster home- here’s what his foster said:
“Crockett has been an absolute sweetheart!!!! I totally love, love, love this guy. He is housetrained and has had zero accidents in the house and has learned to use the doggy door. He’s been awesome with my 10-year-old grandson so I think would do fine with kids running around and playing.
Crockett is VERY smart and willing to learn. He does need a little leash training but after his initial excitement he slows down and smells the roses. He is always looking for lizards! I have not used a crate with him, it`s not needed. I can leave him alone and absolutely nothing is bothered upon my return. I think he sleeps while I am gone. He knows sit, speak, stay, down and go lay down. He`s very alert but doesn`t bark, not even at the doorbell. And a huge plus is that he isn`t even phased by the thunderstorms.
Crockett LOVES his butt/belly rubs; he`s either backing into you for a butt rub or he totally rolls over for belly rubs. He`s very affectionate and likes to be where his person is. He gets bursts of energy and runs around the house with his rubber ball in his mouth. His activity level is pretty much whatever you want to do. He will hang out on the couch and binge watch tv with you or I`m pretty sure he would totally enjoy outdoors activities like hiking. He is loyal, loving, playful and just wants to please. And he has the cutest snore when sleeping! One of the cutest things about Crockett is his tail.....it is always wagging. You just look at him and he wags his tail. He`s a very happy guy.I think he would adjust to just about any home situation. This guy is perfect, he really is. Such a love.”
Here`s what some of Crockett’s friends at the shelter have said:
“Crockett is a phenomenal dog and has been nothing but an impressive gentleman to everyone he meets. He’s been hanging out in an office at the shelter- he does well sharing his space and is perfectly content being by himself in the office or hanging out with his favorite humans. He loves tennis balls and toys (but should not be left
