Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred is a handsome 5-year-old beagle who was rescued from a shelter in Conroe. He’s in the beagle sweet spot where he’s over his puppy antics but still enjoys playing enough to be a good companion to other dogs. Fred can play rough so will need a dog who can wrestle with the best of them! He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and has had no accidents in the house. He has shown no signs of food guarding or destructive behaviors.

Fred is a sweet, gentle soul that loves attention. He loves pets and snuggles and enjoys napping on the couch. He’s calm enough for most living situations. He walks well on a leash and shares toys without issue. He hasn’t caused any problems when left without human supervision, though his foster parents haven’t left for longer than 3-4 hours at a time.

Adorable Fred would make a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the love and attention he deserves!

1.
Submit Application

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of our on-line application to adopt. The application can be found on our website.

2.
Approve Application

Go to our website www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on the link "About Adoption." After receiving your application, we will contact you.

3.
Home Check

Once your application is approved, a volunteer will bring the beagle to your home to meet your family and pets, and approve the adoption..

4.
Meet the Pet

You are invited to attend our monthly meet and greets without completing an application, but no adoption can take place before applying.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website. We require an adoption fee ($300 for purebred beagles and coon hounds; $250 for mixes; $200 for special needs or seniors 8 years +; and $350 for pups age 8 mo. or younger) and an adoption contract. ALL dogs will be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption!

We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from noon to 3:00 p.m. and will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles! We also periodically hold special activities, and occasionally attend Houston-area adoption events which will be listed on our "events" section of our website.
