My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Enya!

This sweet lady is a ranch favorite! Enya came to us with her 9 puppies, she was extremely skinny as she was putting all her energy into caring for her pups, our team quickly made efforts to get some weight on her and gain her trust. While Enya is very nervous around new people she does open up when given enough time and treats. Enya does best when she has a doggy friend to play with as they help her feel brave. Due to her history of being a stray, a home visit and meet and greet is required before she can go to her new home.

You can meet Enya at our main ranch location or for more information please email dogswmr@gmail.com

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
