My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet beautiful Carly, an American Pit Bull mix picked up by the police as a stray and brought on 5/19 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. She is about a year old and weighs 42 pounds. Now let me describe her. She walks quite nicely on a leash. She is well-mannered, calm, and has a mellow and low-key personality. She is friendly and when you sit down, she wants to climb into your lap. She is A-OK with receiving hugs and petting. She is a bit nervous and shy and yet she has only been at the shelter for a few days. She appears to have been well cared for, and it is puzzling that her owners have not come to reclaim her. She does not seem to know any commands, and was not interested in the treats I offered her. She does have an interesting habit of giving you a short bark, and then proceeding to stand at the door. One wonders exactly what she is trying to communicate! Carly is in need of a forever home.
