My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I’m Sugar and I am 2 years old! I was having a tough time in the shelter before I entered foster care. I am still pretty quiet and learning to find my voice. Although I can be timid at first the more you get to know me the more my personality shines. I am sweet and well behaved and enjoy all the pets! I’m still working on coming out of my shell so it may take some time for me to get used to you. Most of the time you’ll find me napping in the sun or ready and waiting for dinner!

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
