My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mazie! Mazie is a 10 year old boxer mix who was surrendered to us because she wasn’t doing well with the young children in the home.

We believe Mazie is hard of hearing, if not completely deaf. She would do best in a home without too much going on. She is looking for an adopter without young kids or other animals, however we will do meet and greets with older kids/teens who won’t squeeze or grab her, and respect her space!

The shelter is no place for a sweet senior like Mazie. If you’re interested in sharing your home, please reach out!

Intake notes: housebroken, afraid of loud noises, doesn't like children, protectiveMore information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
