Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sammie is a sweet almost two year old pit/staffy/boxer mix. She was rescued as a stray and quickly learned life can be fun and comfortable indoors! Named for her brindle coat resembling a “Sammie on Rye,” she doesn’t know a stranger now and wants to be friends with every person she meets, young and old! Sammie knows her name and comes when called. She is crate trained. Her crate is her safe space and she can be crated without issues. She is house broken, has good leash manners, is not food aggressive, gently takes treats, knows sit and shake, loves to fetch, and is a fast learner. She is safe with kids, cats, and other dogs and just wants to be friends with everyone. Sammie is an extrovert but not an alpha and respects boundaries from the foster home cats. She is not scared of thunderstorms. Sammie LOVES to chew so long-lasting chew treats and lots of toys to destroy will be a must. She will cuddle with you to binge shows but has lots of energy and will need frequent walks or a fenced yard to run it out. She would love, love, love a dog, dog friendly cat, or a kiddo (or any combo!) as a companion! She is loyal and absolutely loves her people. When you get home she will be excited to see you everyday, tail wagging.
Sammie has a skin allergy that is responding well to current treatment (cytpoint injection every 2-3 months. At present time she takes a medicated bath every 3 or so days, and does well with that. She will come with her crate, leash, collar, outfits, raincoat, lots of toys, a stock of essentials and her special shower hose attachment.
