My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hey there I’m “Slim”!  If you’re looking for a handsome “Dogo Argentino” (that’s my breed) that is full of personality (I can be a goofball), loves everyone, enjoys bath time, and will make you smile EVERY single day, well then look no further!

Just to back up a little…When I was in the shelter, prior to Rescue Rovers, the shelter thought I was around 4 years old. I was stressed out there and needed to gain some weight so I acted a lot older than my foster family thinks I am, which is probably closer to 2 years old. But it's all a guess!

Even though I could stand to gain another 5 pounds or so, I’m looking pretty fit if I do say so myself. I am currently around 60ish pounds and as I’ve been getting healthier, the puppy in me has been coming out and I have some “puppyish” qualities that you’ll want to keep in mind….I have some puppy energy to burn everyday, I’m very playful with my humans and other dogs, and if you have a bed with space underneath, I love to hide under the bed for a good game of hide and seek.

I love other dogs and would do best in a home that has another playful pup or has dog friends nearby that we could go play with sometimes.

As far as the kiddos go, boy do the sights and sounds of kids make me happy, but they probably need to be kids that are a little older (8 and up). I’ve been around really young kids and I love the treats they give me, but those treats might not be the best for me since I’ll eat anything they have to offer. I really need to stick to a grain free diet (my breed is known for not doing well with grains).

I’m house trained, dog door trained, and mostly crate trained (I do whine when first put in, but I’m getting better).

Just like any other young pup, I would really benefit from some basic obedience training.

I’m a bit of a counter surfer and could use some help with that. I am also so incredibly smart and capable of so much!

If you think you're the someone(s) that can provide me a loving and safe home, then please apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
