Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster: Meet Tape (aka sweet girl/little girl/missy/and more). She is a petite, shy girl who appreciates a quiet space with many options for where she can go to be on her own when she feels like it.
After 4+ months in her foster home, Tape has shown great progress (and promise!) towards being comfortable with people. Day by day, she gets a little closer to me or stays a little longer in my presence. If you’re real patient and still, she’ll sometimes come up to sniff/boop an extended hand. She’ll also get close to you while playing with string toys. All that said, Tape is still very much scared of people. Potential adopters need to know that she is currently not affectionate and nowhere near a “lap cat.” With time, she could get there, but a future family should not adopt Tape if they are counting on her to become affectionate. Her future family needs to be ok with her as is he is today.
Living with another cat is essential for Tape. She needs the comfort and familiarity of a feline buddy. She currently lives with Compass (boy) and Ivy (girl), who are also available for adoption. Tape favors Compass, whom she’s been with the longest.
Potential adopters should know:
Tape had a rough start before coming to rescue (hoarding situation), which I believe is why she is so fearful.
It took Tape several months in her foster home to fully adjust. At this time, she is still fearful of people. Cannot be approached. She is very curious though! She will closely watch you and how you and other cats interact with each other. She’ll walk over and stop just a couple feet away when you are petting another cat.
She is very playful, which is so fun to see! She enjoys cat trees and looking out windows.
We feel strongly that she should live in a quiet, stable environment of adults only who can give her all the space and time she needs.
She likes having multiple litter boxes. If her home has multiple floors, preferably there is a litter box on each of them. This will also help prevent any accidents in the beginning when she may be too afraid to venture far from a hiding spot.
In summary, Tape is shy. You will need to put in the work to win her over, and it will be SO rewarding when you do eventually earn her trust.
If you think she is the one you have been looking for, please fill out an application. She will be… scared to meet you 😊 but let’s find out if you’re a match!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
