Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster: Meet Tape but we have been calling her Tilly. She has the cutest chirp/trill, and it is her favorite mode of communication. She is a petite, shy girl who appreciates a quiet space with places she can go to be alone.
Living with another cat is essential for this sweet gal. She needs the comfort and familiarity of a feline buddy. She currently lives with Compass, a boy cat who is also available for adoption.
Potential adopters should know:
To date, she maintains a wide distance between herself and any person. She is exceptionally timid. After ~2 months in foster, she is still fearful of people and has not fully adjusted to her new environment (which happens to be the very quiet home of a solo homebody, so that should tell you something about her baseline!).
That said, she IS making progress. It is so rewarding to see her relax more little by little. The bits of her personality revealed thus far are playful, curious and affectionate (towards other cats). She loves looking out a window.
We feel strongly that she should live in a quiet, stable environment of adults only who can give her all the space and time she needs. Her future family should be ok with her as she is today and not expect her to transform into a people-loving lap cat. (It could definitely happen! There's just no way of knowing at this time.)
She likes having multiple litter boxes. If her home has multiple floors, preferably there is a litter box on each of them. This will also help prevent any accidents in the beginning when she may be too afraid to venture far from a hiding spot.
She is a master of hiding. You will be shocked at some of the places she finds. It is best not to try to get her out from a hiding spot. When she realizes it's not longer her secret, she will find another.
tldr: She is shy. You will need to put in the work to win her over, and it will be so rewarding when you do eventually earn her trust.
If you think this sweet gal is the one you have been looking for, please fill out an application. She will be... scared to meet you but let's find out if you're a match!
From the Vet:
Tape has some missing teeth and TBB will be pursing a dental treatment to determine if any further extraction need to be made. Scheduling of this procedure is still pending so if Tape finds her forever home, this surgery as well as one round of medications and a recheck if determined necessary will be covered in her adoption contract. We know she will be the perfect addition to a quiet forever home!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
