My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fred, a mature Siamese with a graceful presence and soulful gray-blue eyes. Fred has endured significant trauma in his past, making him a reserved and independent feline friend. Fred needs for affection are limited and brief, and he will ask for it when he wants it. While he prefers his solitude, his beauty and calm demeanor provide a comforting presence. He's litter-trained, stoic-mannered, and enjoys observing his surroundings from a cozy perch.

Fred must be adopted with his adopted sister Kooks, as they are a bonded pair and provide stability for one another. Fred is ideal for a quiet household looking for a low-key companion. His self-sufficient nature means he doesn't require constant attention or extensive interaction, and her playful energy entertains once trust is established.

Kooks complements Fred's personality, and together, they bring a balanced and harmonious energy to your home.

With patience and understanding, Fred promises to fill your home with quiet companionship and subtle, tranquil moments of connection. Give these two a chance to find security in your loving home. Adopting Fred and Kooks brings the reward of giving a deserving pair the forever home they need. If you're looking for a beautiful, dynamic bonded pair of companions, Fred and Kooks are your perfect match. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
