Hi,
My name is Keylime, and I am looking for a forever home! They said that to stand out from all the other puppies that need homes, come up with a way to be different. My brother came up with the idea to write a poem for his video, so I wrote a poem as well. I had never seen a puppy poem before, except his! So here it goes! It is called “Keylime's Leap: A Puppy's Quest for Home.”
In the warmth of Yuma's embrace,
A stray named Lucy found her grace.
Heavily pregnant, under the sun's gaze,
To Central Arizona, she set her pace.
Keylime, they call me, a pup of eight,
Born in a leap, by twist of fate.
February's rarest day our birthday makes,
Leap year babies, with all it takes.
Our first playground was cool, soft mud,
A respite from the heat, a delightful thud.
Siblings and I, in dirt we scud,
Muddy portraits, a memory flood.
Lucy, our mother, with love so vast,
Nurtured and raised us, time flew fast.
Now we seek homes, where love will last,
A family for each, a bond to cast.
I'm Keylime, cheerful and bright,
With humans, my heart takes flight.
Yet, a feline friend remains out of sight,
A gentle intro, might just be right.
Spayed, vaccinated, chipped with care,
Ready for a home, with love to spare.
A forever family, for whom I'll be there,
In every leap year, a bond rare.
Through the valley, we've romped and roamed,
In search of hearts, where we'll be homed.
With playful barks, our joy has foamed,
In every leap, our love poem combed.
We're little suns, with rays to spread,
In muddy games, our joy is bred.
A family's touch, where we'll be led,
To beds of warmth, from rescue's shed.
So here we stand, eight leaps of heart,
From Lucy's love, we'll never part.
In homes we'll find our brand new start,
With leaps of joy, in life's grand art.
The End!
My poem is longer than my brother's, so it is better and I am going to stand out from him! If you want to be my new family, please e-mail mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet me.
