Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET CLARA!
This stunning Torti is 12 year old Clara! Clars found her way to City of Elderly Love after being found in very rough shape on the streets of Philadelphia. Clara's recovery is nothing short of miraculous. Now that her time as a sad little stray are over, she's ready to lay down roots with a family!
Clara weighed only 3 lbs. when she was found. She was rushed right to a vet hospital for supportive care and to kickstart her recovery. Clara couldn't properly fend for herself due to having a mouth full of infected, painful teeth and inflamed gums from a condition called Stomatitis. Clara spent weeks in her foster home where she received lots of TLC, pain management, and steady meals before her body was back in a condition where it would be safe to address her dental troubles under sedation. Now that she has had full mouth extractions, Clara is feeling better than ever! She may no longer have any teeth, she can finally eat pain-free!
We're not sure what Clara's past was like but she is a sensitive and sweet little cat. She was very shy when first coming to her foster home and would run to hide when approached, but now just a few weeks later is seeking out attention from her foster mom and is happy to nap wherever she likes. After the adjustment period, we know Clara will be an easy, low maintenance best friend for someone out there! Due to Clara's tiny stature and babyface, she'll probably always look like a kitten which is nice. You get the adorableness without the crazy energy and spiciness. Clara is currently in foster care with other cats. We think she'd be happiest in a quieter home with other low-key cats like herself.
Clara is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
