YOOHOO👋 - I am LOU, a TRUE friend, WHO will always stick by YOU, THROUGH everything you DO, I'll be there to give you a WOO-WOO! At about 1year old & a lanky & trim 50 lbs, I didn't have a great start to my life. I lived with a LOT of other dogs & we were ignored. But the nice people in TX got me out there & up to Wisconsin, & I *love* it here!! I'm a bit reserved when I first meet you, but since everyone has been so nice to me I'm learning to quietly go up to strangers to ask for a scratch. And if you give me just a few hours, I'll be your absolute best friend in the world!! I'm super smart, & learn very quickly, cause I'm very determined to please you. I have lots of skills already - I'm house trained, walk beautifully on a leash, ride quietly in the car, I love kids, & happily share food, toys & treats with my two & four-legged friends (I haven't met any cats yet). For a guy that didn't have a lot of people in my life, I sure do quickly attach & depend on my humans! I'm not thrilled about my crate, but I'm trying to learn that my people will always come back (plenty of exercise & a doggy friend help with this). Speaking of doggy friends, I'm fantastic with all sizes!! One of my best play buddies was a little 10 lb puppy, but big dogs are super fun too. I love to play fetch, chase the small furries in my foster's fenced yard, go for long walks - & absolutely adore water! 💦Hose games, pools, puddles💦 - whenever I have a chance to play in water, I'm a happy guy (my short coat dries in a flash too!). Foster mom says I'm the 💜sweetest💜 funnest boy - so get in your application to meet me, I'm ready to start my new life with you! DATCP#483538

Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application.
An adoption is not considered without a completed application. This step will let us know if your household is what our animal needs to feel safe and comfortable!
Step 2: Background Check, Landlord Check, Vet Check
We will check to make sure that you do not have any violent charges, are allowed pets where you live, and will check with your vet to make sure your animals have remained up to date on testing, vaccinations, and checkups.
Step 3: Meet and Greet
If approved, our adoption coordinator will set you up with the foster parent’s contact information. It is up to you to call the foster parent and schedule a meet and greet.
Step 4: Home Visit
One of our volunteers will come to your house and conduct a home visit with the help of a checklist.
Step 5: Adoption Decision
Rescue Gang will decide if both parties would make a great fit for each other! If so, we can go about finalizing your adoption! Please keep in mind that an approved application does not necessarily mean that you *are* going to be able to adopt the animal you applied for.
Please note:
An approved application means that your have passed the initial screening process and may proceed to the following steps. The animal you are interested in may have more than one application and may have already found his/ her forever home before you are able to meet. In that case, your application will remain active for 90 days
