Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Hummus. He and his sister were part of a huge litter and Save-A-Mutt was happy to find room in the foster program for two of them. Mommy is a white shepherd, daddy a yellow lab. Hummus is about 6 months old now, and on the smaller side, about 35#. We think when he's fully grown, he will be in the 60# range.
Hummus had a small accident in CA before he came to us, which resulted in two broken toes. He's been in a medical foster home, healing. At about 6 weeks post break, he doesn't care about the toes at all. The video is current and he's happy and energetic. In foster, Hummus is learning all kinds of things... sleeping in a crate, and doing great with housebreaking. He LOVES people... and right there to be cuddled and give kisses. He's good with other dogs, just kind of a spaz. He really just needs an active home, with a large fenced yard. No chainlink please, we think that's how he broke his toes... dork! Older kids would be fine, he's just so bouncy, smaller kids will get knocked over.
We will be doing repeat x-rays before he gets adopted, but Hummus is not limping and does not seem to be bothered at all.
Hummus is very barky about the foster's cat, so we are asking for a feline free home.
Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. We ask adopters to follow the 3/3/3 rules - allowing for patience and time for new pups to acclimated to their new home. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information.
This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He has been treated for both internal and external parasites. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood.
Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
