My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered when appropriate.

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

A bit about me:

Bobo was found running loose in Riverside Park before he was brought into Manhattan ACC by a passerby.

My ideal home:

Bobo would do best in a patient adult only home. He would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help him feel safe.

Good with other pets?

During his assessments and during social play groups, Bobo was playful and wiggly with other dogs at the shelter. However, he has been observed to not always want to share his food or toys with other pets. He might get along well with new doggy friends with proper introductions and socialization. We always suggest slow introductions with resident pets, and we offer a 2-week trial adoption to help you see if Bobo is a good fit with your family. Since ACC doesn't test with cats, we're not sure how he'd do with feline friends, but we can help you with tips and advice!

Good with kids?

Since Bobo came to us as a stray, we don't have much information about his past. For now, we think he'll do best in a home without young children under 13, as he's still learning his basic manners. With a bit of patience and training, he'll be a wonderful addition to a loving family!

How is my health?

Bobo is overweight and has some health concerns that our staff will discuss with you.

How are my leash manners?

Bobo pulls mildly and is nonreactive to humans and dogs on walks.

What is my behavior assessment?

Bobo has been assessed as a Level 3 dog. He would need an experienced owner that can help him with his basic manners and resource guarding. He is a sweet older gentleman, and with patience and understanding, he'll make a wonderful companion.
