My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This handsome guy is the happiest boy you will ever meet. You would never know this Phoenix was in a small shelter for a year after being taken from a cruelty case.  We welcomed him into our program and after spending a few months in boarding, we were able to find him the best foster home. Unfortunately, he is back in boarding and desperately needs a foster or forever home.

Phoenix is a very sweet and playful boy who wants to be wherever his people are. He is fully house trained and has not had a single accident in boarding or foster. He learned to be comfortable in the kennel within 4 days, and will go in on his own if there is a comfy bed inside. He sometimes has some mild separation anxiety and may whine a little when we people leave but settles in quickly to sleep or have alone time. He is a really good listener, and already has picked up on "stay" and "drop" without extensive training. Pheonix does great in a backyard with neighbor dogs barking and has shown no reactivity to dogs in boarding. On walks he can get a little excited about squirrels or people on bicycles. Pheonix loves to play with other dogs and has tested well with cats. He would love a forever home that is looking for a sweet, loving boy who loves to cuddle on the couch or the bed, play with toys and play in the kiddie pool! He does the cutest little jump and spin when he is excited to go on a walk, and when he's really comfortable he does a little contented pig snort, he would easily fit into a home looking for a gentle, fun, cuddlebug!

Additional adoption info

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
