My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Colt, a bundle of energy and joy! I adore jumping around and my excitement knows no bounds when you walk through the door. I'm making progress crate training, though I have to admit, snuggling up in bed with you is my favorite. Playing with my dog foster siblings is a blast, and we enjoy chasing and chewing on toys (sometimes the tiny human's toys too, oops!). I get along well with my foster human siblings, but very young children might find my energy a bit overwhelming. I'm improving with potty training, and I've got a knack for letting you know when I need something or when it's time to go out with a cheerful bark. All I really crave is love, and I'm patiently waiting for that special someone to show me the ropes of what it means to have a loving family. Can't wait to meet you!

Colt is around 1.5 years old and 57lbs, best guess on his breed is Lab/Pitbull, he's fully vetted, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. Apply to adopt at bigloverescue.org

Additional adoption info

We are extremely thorough with our adoption process. Our goal is to find the best fit for our dogs. We reserve the right to deny anyone a dog if we feel the applicant is not qualified or is not a good fit for the dog at our discretion. We require two personal references that we call to check character and get a recommendation on why or why not the applicant is a good candidate. Also, we call the vet reference to be sure the applicants current dog is current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. The home check is mandatory to be sure the applicant lives where they say they live and the pet will live in a safe environment.

More about this rescue

The Charity's specific purpose is to rescue lost or abandoned dogs from shelters, from the streets or from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Our goal is to prevent further euthanasia of these animals. All dogs receive medical care and behavioral training as needed to prepare them for a new home.
We do not have a facility.
All of our dogs are in foster homes.
The charity will also focus on efforts to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals to prevent the overpopulation of animals in Texas.
Our adoption fee is $300 which includes alteration, vaccines, microchip, training program in some cases & any medical treatments needed for each dog to be 100% healthy and successful in a home. Must have an approved application to set up a meet and greet.
