Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We first met Kitty last year when she was E-listed for barrier reactivity at MCACC in April 2024. In her first stay with us, she was the happiest, spunky loving girl and showed no signs of aggression in her foster home. She was adopted about 1.5mos later in late May and spent 9 months in this adoptive home before sadly being returned to us. The same amazing fosters who had Kitty originally were thankfully able to take her back. She is now 2 years old, and has so much love to give!
Kitty adjusted almost immediately back into foster home. She remembered all her doggie friends (and humans!), she happily goes in her crate for meal and bed times. She still does well with their doggy door and has no potty issues in their home - the adopter had struggled with potty training in the time they had her, so if she does not have a dog door she may need need work on this. Kitty gets so happy and excited when her humans come home that she tends to jump up on them, but she does respond well to verbal correction. Kitty is an affectionate girl who loves cuddles and belly rubs! One of Kitty’s favorite places to go is the dog park where she enjoys meeting and playing with new friends. She is a medium to high energy dog, who benefits from getting her energy out during walks. Kitty walks well on her leash (she’s put in a lot of work!) with minimal pulling.
Kitty would do great in a variety of homes. She currently lives with multiple young dogs who she loves to play with, and one senior dog who Kitty has learned to respect the boundaries of. She could also do well as an only dog as she adores her humans. If there are kids in her home, they need to be older as she was showing some resource guarding with the adopters young children as well. Her foster has seen no aggression whatsoever from her, so we do think this may be related to how young the other kids were (and how much Kitty LOVES food). She has not had much interaction with cats or small dogs, so we do not know for sure how she would would do with them. Kitty is an all around happy, sweet girl. If you think she would make a great addition to your home, apply to meet her today!
