My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet 2-year old Tara, a true survivor with a heart full of love and joy! Tara was saved from death at the last minute due to breed-specific legislation at her previous shelter, and now she’s ready to find her forever home. This petite, 39-pound bundle of happiness is super social, always wagging her tail, and wiggling her butt in excitement.

Tara is incredibly treat-motivated, making her a quick learner. She already knows how to sit, lie down, and will run into her crate and sit patiently when you point at it. One of her favorite activities is playing fetch with a ball; she will drop it at your feet and sit, eagerly waiting for you to throw it again. Tara loves her zoomies and will keep you entertained with her playful energy.

On walks, Tara is a dream, walking well on a leash and enjoying every moment. She’s both potty trained and crate trained. While she might cry or howl for about ten minutes when first crated, she then settles down and sleeps through the night peacefully.

Friendly with other dogs and indifferent to cats, Tara is a well-rounded companion.

Tara is ready to fill your home with joy, love, and tail wags. If you’re looking for a happy, loving, and playful companion, Tara is the one for you. Contact us today to meet Tara and see if she’s the perfect fit for your family. She can't wait to start her new life filled with love and adventures!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
