My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dorito may be tiny, (he's only 13 pounds) but he has tons of love to give. He was on death row at the county kill shelter because he was scared and afraid of the Shelter staff. One of our wonderful volunteers offered to foster him so we quickly got him out of the Shelter. Since being in his foster home he has shown himself to be very affectionate and in love with his 7 yo human sibling. He prefers laps to floors or dog beds and is eager to please and food motivated. He does well with other dogs and loves running around on the grass. He is learning to be potty and crate trained and how to walk on a leash.

Dorito is neutered, UTD on vaccines and microchipped.

Adoption process requires an interview with adopter, ad adoption agreement, plus spay/neuter deposit if animal is not spayed/neutered.

More about this shelter

Jelly's Place is a rescue and No-kill shelter founded in 2017 to be an advocate for the lives and dignity of urban animals who are homeless, abandoned, impounded, sick, or injured, by providing responsible care, placement, and community education. Its founder, Julie Bainbridge, has been rescuing and fostering animals since childhood. She has rescued, fostered, and /or raised all kinds of animals, including baby squirrels, raccoons, pigeons, chickens, geese, ducks, skunks (yes- skunks), wild and tropical birds, pigmey goats, mice, snakes, rabbits, dogs, and cats. Some animals are cared for by volunteers in their homes.
Jelly's Place is named in memory of her beloved English Bulldog who crossed over the Rainbow bridge in 2016. Jelly's Place is a 501 (3)(c) nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.
Jelly's Place depends on donations, grants, and volunteers to foster and care for animals.
