My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I think Onyx from the Hickman Humane-Society hoarding case is ready for a forever home. If you do not know his story search #TeachingOnyxToTrust on Facebook to see his journey.
If someone is interested in him I would like to work with them to get him more comfortable before they take him home officially. He has come a long way but there are still fears embedded in him that will take longer than a couple months to work through. Here is a video that shows his playful personality.
🐶I’m looking for a dog savvy owner that understands fearful dogs
❤️Just turned a year old 65lbs
❤️Not a chewer and surprisingly housebroken
❤️He has NEVER showed any aggression
❤️Needs a quiet home. No young kids
❤️Great with big & small dogs
❤️He has met cats and shown no prey drive
❤️He heels PERFECTLY on a leash
❤️He is scared of new people
❤️He is a shadow and follows you everywhere.
❤️Good in the car
❤️Fully vetted, microchipped, neutered
This is a lot of progress from an almost feral dog. Just think of the possibilities a year from now!! HE’S AMAZING!!!!

Donation
Since ALL of our funding is from donations (we are not supported by a government agency), fundraising and a few spay/neuter grants, we always need monetary donations and food and supply donations including straw and bedding material. With winter coming we could really use some more dog houses and tarps (used is welcome). Used crates are also always needed. Pick up can be arranged within a reasonable distance. Thank you for your support.
