Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA: It’s a bird…It’s a plane…It’s our very own super hero Batdog BRUCE!
Stunning and regal Bruce is a 1-2 year old shepherd mix and weighs 78 lbs. Bruce is incredibly sweet and although he may be a bit shy at first, it doesn’t take long for Bruce to trust you. And once he is comfortable, Bruce turns into the most affectionate, snuggly love-bug ever! Bruce is truly an amazing dog. His adorably large ears do their jobs wonderfully as Bruce is an excellent listener. He loves to be close to you, often seeking reassurance and his soft fur is so easy to pet. Poor Bruce has been through so much; after being abandoned at the chaotic, over-crowded shelter, he was terribly heart broken and his stress landing him very quickly on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, a foster opened her home to Bruce and he has been an obedient, well-behaved, and impeccably housetrained guest thus far! Bruce is a true gentleman.
Bruce reportedly did not have any previous experience with other dogs, cats, or children. He has been OK with being around other dogs while they were crated, has been around his foster's cat without issues, and has been fine with children from afar. Because he is such a big clumsy guy, small children may not be best for him. We believe in Bruce’s gentle nature and with proper, slow introductions think he will succeed with other dogs, cats, and older kids. Smarty-pants Bruce already knows the cues sit, stay, paw, and down. His foster says that Bruce just LOVES to play fetch – it is his favorite thing ever, and is perfectly happy to just fetch for hours! He also loves his squeaky toys. But when he plays with you, Bruce is so gentle. Bruce is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and ready to be your best friend!
