Hilda was allowed to come to our rescue after her breeder retired her. This is Hilda's first time experiencing many things that pets usually do, so the learning curve is a bit steep. Hilda is a sweet dear thing, and we know she is very excited for this next chapter to begin with her forever family.
Her foster family has been giving her time to decompress & this is a small snippet of what they shared with us:
Hilda is very sweet, yet afraid of humans. She loves to be talked to and can be coaxed to come close, even close enough to pick up and pet. She loves attention and pets, but if you let her loose, she will run off to a safe place. She sleeps in her safe place and will allow a fur friend to lay with her. She would benefit having a fur friend that is gentle and sweet. She will go out and come in on her own with some help but don't make eye contact as this will cause her to run the other way.
So, you can see that Hilda is being very brave & slowly learning the routine of her foster home. It is not yet time to introduce Hilda to a leash, so she will need a very secure physically fenced back yard. We want to impress upon applicants that it will take time & patience to allow Hilda to come out of her shell & trust humans. It's only fair after all the years she spent providing dozens of families puppies to buy.
We know the perfect family is out there. Our hope is that they see this post & give Hilda a chance to be a part of their family.
