Delia is still waiting to meet you! This bubbly ball of fun is just 1 1/2 years old and she's been waiting so patiently for a family of her own for a while now. Somehow, Delia ended up being passed around to a couple of homes already in her young life and in one of the homes, she had an altercation with another dog that left her with a dislike for them. SO, no other dogs, but she sure loves people! Especially people that will throw a ball for her, take her for a hike or jog, and love her forever. Delia is like a puppy in a big dog's body. She's always ready to zoom off after a ball and she fancies herself an expert soccer player! She's strong but she's well-behaved, housebroken, gentle with taking a treat, she sits and lays down when asked, and she's so friendly and affectionate too. We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
