Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hector and his younger brother Felix were owner surrenders. They are available for either in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. They do not have to be adopted together.
Hector is a quiet, loving, little apple-head chihuahua. At 8lbs and around 2 years old he is as big as he will get! He has a huge heart and a smile that you will instantly fall in love with him. He doesn’t nip or yap but does bark in appropriate situations. Hector is being fostered in a home with his younger brother and several, mostly large dogs. He is dog-friendly and likes to play but LOVES snuggling with people and is an expert at it. Hector burrows in his blankets and makes a game of it (the blanket monster game) to play with his younger brother. Hector would be a fantastic apartment condo dog as he is paper-trained but will also go potty outside. Hector has never been alone so he would do best with a stay-at-home parent or another low-energy small dog companion. His dream home would be a retired person who wants a lap dog. His younger brother is also available for adoption but it is not required that they be adopted together.
Because Hector is so small, he must be protected from rough treatment by children or big dogs that could hurt him. He must also be protected from raptors and other outdoor predators. Hector must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. To avoid injury, he will need steps to get on and off the couch and other furniture. Hector must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and would like a secure, fenced yard to run and play.
Hector is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Hector has a $200 in-state adoption fee. His out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company. Hector can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. He is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
