My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Happy was found hanging around a school waiting for the children to pet her.  A kind Teacher got to know her and because she was so sweet took her home.  She cannot keep her and we want to keep her out of a shelter.   She came in extremely underweight and exhausted. She is putting on weight, and the foster says, "she is one of the cuddliest dogs I have ever been around.  (she likes to sleep in my bed with me or in your lap to snuggle) She would be amazing in a home as an only dog or with one other dog or cat.  She is never more than 3 feet away from me (unless she is playing fetch)"  She says she is great with her cats and grandchildren as well!   She does great with her cats and grandchildren.

She can fetch.  She eats super fast and right now we have her on several small meals a day of a high protein diet to put on weight. She knows how to sit and stay.  She doesn't chew unless we give her an appropriate bone she is given. She loves the hard stuffed dog toys and large tennis balls and will carry them around in her mouth.  She is a total love bug!!!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
