My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello friends!! My name is Harvey and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Terrier/Lab mix

  • Age: approx. 1.5 years

  • Gender: Male

  • Weight: 40 lbs

  • Height (paws to shoulders): TBD

  • Length (nose to bum): TBD

  • Current Location: Texas

RESCUE STORY - I was found as a puppy on the side of the road all by myself. I was about 12 weeks old at the time, WAY too young to be out there all by my lonesome! I have spent the past 6 months in care at the County Roads Rescue facility in Texas. I stayed in a foster home when we had to evacuate the shelter for a bit during an emergency weather event. My foster said I was extremely well behaved in his home and got along well with everyone! He said I'm a dang good listenery and easy to train. I am sooo ready to finally go to my forever home!

TEMPERAMENT - I am a calm, friendly boy with loads of love to give! Although I can be shy upon first introductions, I warm up quickly especially if you have treats! I have bouts of energetic playfulness, but mostly I'm pretty calm and relaxed. I get along with kids (video coming soon), dogs, and cats. I'm the full package, if you ask me!

I am looking for a moderately active family who has the time and energy to take me for lots of walks, play with me, and give me all the attention that I need! I promise we'll have a blast together!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I play hard but I crash hard too!

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – I have met some children (video coming soon) and did great.

    • as with ALL dogs, I should always be supervised around children and I need to have my space respected.

  • Dogs – Yup! I LOVE other dogs and am always a good boy around my friends. Check out my video!

  • Cats – Yup! Check out my video! If anything, I'm a little timid around cats.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – I do pretty well on leash but would love an adopter who is willing to continue working with me on my leash skills.

  • Crate trained - yes!

  • House trained – yes! I may need an adjustment period once I go to my forever home, but I'm a smart boy so I'm sure with frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement, I'll re-learn quickly!

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am a healthy boy who has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

  • I will be tested for heartworm, distemper, parvo, and Brucellosis before travelling.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my ground transport to Lynwood, Washington. My adopter needs to be willing to drive to Lynwood, Washington to pick me up! :)
