Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clementine is a very sweet shepherd mix girl searching for a forever home but comes with some specific needs. Clementine is from Afghanistan where she lost her eye due to people pelting her with rocks. This has made her shy of new people in the beginning but will slowly warm up once trust is built. She also lost half an ear but the cause is unknown. Due to being a street dog she exhibits resource guarding tendencies. Her resource guarding has only been towards other animals where she does not want to share her food, treats, toys, or sleeping areas with others. This is understandable due to fighting for resources in Afghanistan. She does not show any resource guarding towards humans including young children. She is currently living in a foster home with two elderly cats. She gets along fine outdoors with them but will growl at them when they enter a room where she resides, therefore not trustworthy indoors. Fosters suggest she be an only pet with a fenced in yard to roam. She wants to be loved by her humans and share that love with others. She is always coming up to people for head rubs and will beg for more by lifting a paw. Clementine is housetrained. She is also not destructive when left alone and current fosters leave her uncrated. She walks well on a leash but prefers trails where there is not a lot of activity.
The perfect house for Clementine:
• Calm household
• No other pets
• A secure area to explore
• Time and patience to show love
Clementine is truly a sweet dog that would make a kind and patient person very happy. She really loves her people and really wants to be loved as well.
Adoption fee is $450

More about this rescue
Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.
PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
Please contact us if you would like to help foster, transport, fundraise or volunteer.
