My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are heartbroken to rehome our sweet boy. Being a rescue, he is a fearful dog who feels safest at home with familiar people. We've easily managed his reactivity for 4 years now, but our toddler is a major stressor for him, and we've been advised by professionals that rehoming is our safest option.

FULL DISCLOSURE: We've had a handful of situations where he has responded to stress with warning nips (minor bites). The rescue we adopted him from recommended euthanasia because even “well-behaving” dogs are unadoptable right now. This is NOT an option for us.

While ready to hike or run, Alaska has a calm demeanor and loves to lounge around for tummy rubs in air-conditioned comfort. For those who work remotely, he makes an excellent companion as he never barks and is always ready for a cuddle break. Alaska is friendly with medium—to large dogs.

We're committed to finding him a home that understands his needs and can provide him with the love, support, & environment he thrives in.
