Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Ford is a handsome ~20 year old Quarter Horse type gelding. Ford came to us from
our rescue partner, The Pennsylvania SPCA, when several horses were rescued from a warehouse in Philadelphia. Ford came in malnourished, with terrible teeth and neglected
hooves. Since his arrival, he has been seen by the equine dentist and is on a regular farrier schedule. With proper nutrition he has reached a healthy weight.
We are not really sure what Henry Ford's past was like, but we believe he could have been a ranch horse due to several brands. Ford served as an ambassador for LCR for the past few months helping teach some of our young riders. Ford is now looking for a semi-retirement home where he can enjoy lots of pampering! Due to some conformational defaults (swayback and dropped pasterns) he would be best for occasional rides only. Ford is safe, but can be a little strong under saddle as he gets excited about working, so he is best suited for leadline or an advanced beginner/intermediate rider. He enjoys hacking around the property, is excellent to load/haul to offsite trails and has also gone to the beach!
Ford has a sweet but silly personality and is quite the character! He craves attention and is always the first one over to you in the field. He has good ground manners, no bad habits, ties, and stands for the farrier and vet.
If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.

Adoption Fees for Dogs/Puppies:
Our fees range from $195 to $450 depending on age, medical treatments completed, etc. All dogs leave our facility up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing/preventative, flea/tick treatments, and microchipped.
This pet may have received other medical procedures, testing, surgeries, grooming that will necessitate a higher fee to cover these procedures. You will be provided with all medical records and certificates, leash, collar, starter packet of information. While we hope all our dogs find their exact forever home the first time they get placed, sometimes it just doesn't work out. Even after 6 months or 6 years, we are still here for you if you would ever need a home or help with your adopted pet. We also offer a lifetime of support and advice if necessary to help you work through any issues with your new adopted pet and your family. Our adoption fees help pay for the spaying/neutering, health care and food for rescued dogs, horses, cats and other companion animals that live at the rescue. If it seems high to you then you should reconsider adopting an animal as the cost of veterinary, preventative, and personal care over the life of an animal is not something to be taken lightly.
Information on housetraining, compatibility, history, and temperament of any animal may not be known. We will post updated information as it becomes available.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens-$95 +.
