Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Sasha and I’m looking for my forever home. I am about 6 years old and weigh 20 lbs. I came to SIRA from a commercial breeding facility, where it was my job to make puppies. That hard work is behind me now, and I’m learning what it’s like to be a treasured family member. So far, I love it! I’m a peaceful soul and I’ve been a good girl here in my foster home in Chicago. Not to brag or anything, but Foster mom calls me the most well-behaved dog that she’s ever met. I’m quiet and respectful – like everyone’s perfect roommate. I don’t bark and I’m not destructive. I’m fully potty trained and don’t mind having my nails trimmed or taking a bath. I’m still a bit shy. I prefer to eat my food at night when everything is quiet and nobody is around. So far, my favorite part of this new life is being outside! I love it so much that sometimes foster mom has to pick me up and carry me back inside. I really like going for leash walks. My favorite thing to do indoors is follow foster mom around. I love to be near her and see what she’s doing. I’m like a little shadow – always walking behind you, so quietly that you might not know I’m there. Like many Shibas, I’m not a cuddler or super-affectionate, but maybe as I get used to living with humans, I’ll learn to be a snuggler. I am gentle with cats, kids, even little ones. I also play nicely with other dogs. Foster mom thinks I’d enjoy a forever home with another resident dog so I could be more active and playful. I’m a healthy girl – spayed and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and want a polite, quiet, pretty girl to share your life with, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll connect you with my foster mom so we can meet. That would be nice!
