My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daphne: Your Very Own Scooby-Doo Companion!

Are you ready to add a lovable, snuggly, and enthusiastic companion to your family? Meet Daphne, a delightful and sweet-natured dog who's ready to bring joy and adventure into your life! Daphne is sweet and friendly, a real people-dog who loves to snuggle up with you, offering warmth and comfort after a long day. You'll never come home to an empty greeting-Daphne will always meet you at the door with her favorite toy in her mouth, ready to play.

Like her cartoon counterpart, Daphne is always on the lookout for a tasty treat. This makes her a joy to train and an eager learner. After her energetic bursts, she's all about curling up with her human for some cozy time.

Daphne prefers to be the only dog in the household as she struggles with anxiety which has lead to reactive behaviour. She will need patient and dedicated owners who can work on her dog reactivity. She settles very well on her own but can become unsettled if she hears or sees another dog.

Daphne was a loving momma who has successfully weaned her litter of puppies, all of whom have found their own forever homes. Now it's Daphne's turn to find a family who will love her just as much as she deserves. An active family who enjoys long walks and playtime will be perfect. Due to her size and jumpiness, a home without young children is ideal but she has successfully lived with older children before.

Adopt Daphne today! If you're ready to add a fun, loving, and loyal companion to your life, contact us today to meet Daphne. Let's make sure she finds her very own Mystery Machine to ride in and a family to solve life's little mysteries with. 🐾

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
