My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet and gentle Sevyn! This leggy hound is a shy girl who is still adjusting to the good life in a home. Like most hounds, she is particularly fond of her food and is very gentle when taking treats. Sevyn is great in the car and enjoys rides in the backseat with a hammock liner. While she prefers not to go to the bathroom on a leash, she's happiest in a fenced yard where she can roam freely and take her time enjoying nature. Though she's still adjusting to being petted, she's learning to enjoy it more and more, especially if you get down on her level. Being food-motivated will help with her training, and with time, patience, encouragement, and a few tasty treats, Sevyn will blossom into a wonderful and affectionate companion for the right person. It's not a coincidence this lovely hound gal is named Sevyn - there are 7 days in a week, and she's sure to make each and every one a little sweeter!
**Volunteer Dog Walk feedback: "I was able to hike with Sevyn and she was wonderful! She quickly found her stride during the hike. Sevyn was great on the leash and didn't do much pulling. Eventually her hound nose started working but she still never got to be too much. She was great with other dogs on the hike and was friendly with all the people she met".
*Weekend Host feedback: "Sevyn was a 10 in our book! This sweet, gentle hound would be a great companion for someone with a quiet home and fenced in yard. Sevyn loves to walk around in the yard and get good sniffs and enjoy the fresh air. She is good on a leash and enjoys a nice walk as well. We have 2 other dogs (both male- a hound and a yorkie) and she did great with them. Sevyn is potty trained and had zero accidents"!

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
