Per Cindra's Facebook post Sunday 9/12/21, Roxie was adopted at the Petsmart Adoption Event Saturday 9/11/21
Roxie is one of four kittens found with their mama outside in a woodpile. They were all eventually safely trapped and brought inside, but Roxie's foster mom says she was the kitten who gave them a run for their money when they were trying to catch them. Maybe it's because Roxie was the smallest of the kittens and was always the most cautious. She's a smart kitty, we tracked her for hours in the undergrowth and finally nabbed her (now you know why she's so cautious). She probably realized they were trying to help her and she would be reunited with her mama and kitten siblings.
That being said, Roxie can be a little evasive when you try to catch her inside--moving just a little out of reach, but she is getting better with that! Her foster mom says she can always be enticed to come closer with play! Once she is caught, she doesn't fight it. Her foster mom says she is really coming along.
Roxie is more cautious than shy--she's very curious about the other cats in her foster home so while she hasn't been exposed to other animals besides her kitty family, she should be good with other pets with the proper gentle introduction. Everett Animal Welfare Group can help give you great ideas for introducing one pet to another, so be sure to reach out for more information if you'd like to know more.
Currently, Roxie's siblings are also looking for their forever families, so if you are interested in adopting two kitties at the same time (which is such a great idea for a kitty companion when you may need to be away from home during the day...and teaches kitties how to play nice and share with other kitties) please mention this on your adoption application or let us know so we can introduce you to each other.
More about Roxie! She loves to play! She wrestles with her kitten siblings and her favorite activity is to chase after toys when you throw them. She will chase after a bottle cap that you roll across the floor as long as you keep throwing. She also loves to play with tiny stuffed mice toys and balls. Her favorite interactive toy would probably have to be chasing a wand toy with you. She loves that!
Roxie's mom wouldn't call her a cuddler-lap-kitty-who-needs-to-be-carried-around-all-day type of kitten! She leans more toward being an independent kitty who is happy to play by herself and maybe a little cautious before she jumps into the middle of things. Being the smallest in the litter, she probably had to wait until the last one to eat or had to hold her ground at meal time. Every day Roxie is learning what it means to be safe, inside, loved, and trusting. And it's so cute to watch her having fun. One of the best things about adopting a kitten who was rescued from a life outside is seeing them grow into a beautiful, fun, happy cat.
Would you like to meet Roxie? There's no pressure to introduce yourself or meet one of her siblings to see how you like each other. That's part of finding the best match for both of you.
