My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Rosie (previously Lucy) and her siblings were found in a bin along a country road in Alabama with their tails tied.  Mostly likely, the owner was trying to dock them from home :(  Unfortunately, we do believe that they have permanent damage to their tails, however, it does not bother them! They joined our rescue on February 11th and are now in search of their new forever homes!

Rosie has now been with us for 4 months and we are still searching for the right home for her!  She is now 50 lbs and is going to be a large dog, but not huge.  There is a lot of german shepherd in her, but she may have some other breeds in her.

What we have learned about Rosie is that she prefers a quieter household.  We had adopted her out, but the family had a business and entertained a lot and it just had Rosie very antsy and unsettled.  It was not the right fit and she was returned. She is timid when you meet her, but she does warm up and becomes a very loving and loyal pet!  She is crate trained and is only crated when no one is home.  At night time, she sleeps with her foster mom.  Rosie is also house trained and will go to the door when he has to go out.  She walks well on a leash and  rides okay in a car (she drools).  We have also found out that she LOVES the water!!

Rosie's foster family has a older daughter and she is used to being around children.  She loves to lounge on the couch with her best furry friend, Daisy.  Her foster mom said she is not snuggly with her humans, but enjoys laying with the dogs.  Rosie definitely needs a home with another dog or more and ones that are her size or bigger as she loves to play!

Rosie is spayed, up to date on distemper/parvo and rabies vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  The adoption fee is $450.

If you are interested in Rosie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.net.

Additional adoption info

Thank you so much for being interested in adopting a puppy, dog, cat or kitten from Worthy Tails Rescue.

Please click on the link below to access the online application. You will need to register in order to complete it. The registration is just an email and password so that you can access the information. You are under absolutely NO obligation to adopt by registering; it is simply for the website’s records. After the application is completed and submitted, your application will be reviewed. Upon submission, please inform your veterinarian and references that we will be contacting them. We will then be in touch with you after the review process is completed. Please be patient with us as all of our volunteers are very busy with many things, including full time jobs, caring for their own families, pets and caring for our foster pets. In addition, we need to be able to reach your references, which can take some time. Therefore, please allow at least a week before expecting to hear something.

More about this rescue

Worthy Tails is a non profit, all-volunteer animal foster and adoption organization. Our mission is to help animals that did not ask to be born, and are often subjected to inhumane conditions and treatment, to find loving homes. The members of our organization believe that any animal, no matter how large or small, young or old, beautiful or "only a face a mother can love" can offer unconditional love and companionship to the right person, couple, or family.
Worthy Tails is not an animal shelter. All animals live in our approved foster homes until permanent, indoor homes can be found.
