***BEHAVIOR TEST***
DOG TEST: (Dog Selective) Henry is still learning how to be gentle with other dogs. He tends to play very rough and can scare dogs that aren`t used to his play style.
CAT TEST: (Bad with Cats) Henry has too much energy to go to a home with cats.
KID TEST: (Bad with Kids) Due to Henrys size, energy, and some behaviors we are still working on he would do best in a home with no kids. HOUSE BROKEN: (Needs Work) Henry keeps a clean kennel most of the time and would benefit from some more potty training. ENERGY LEVEL: (High) Henry is a super playful and excitable boy who LOVES toys. He loves to run around the side yard and tends to keep himself pretty entertained. We are still working with Henry to be a little more gentle while taking treats and playing with others.
LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) Henry tends to pull very hard on the leash and is super excitable. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (No) Drop (No)

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
