My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Orion and Lynx back with HBWV. They are brothers that we originally adopted out together in 2022, at around 4 months old. These great boys are back with us through no fault of their own. This bonded pair looks a lot alike, but Orion has the bigger black spots in front of his ears. Lynx's ears are bigger, and he has 3 black spots on his back.

These kitties are full of energy and never stop playing and exploring. They play with anything and everything they can find. They are very friendly and always welcome any type of attention and treats. They love pets and will purr and roll around you to show you their affection. Orion warms up a bit quicker than Lynx, but both adjusted to the other cats and a dog in their foster home quickly.

This pair would do best in a home where they are kept active, to help expel their high energy. After a full day of play, they love to sleep in the bed with their human during their down time. They are great cats, and deserve a adopter who will give them a wonderful forever home.

All of our cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP, dewormed for internal parasites, checked for external parasites, current on heartworm prevention/flea control, and have been spayed/neutered.  Adoption fee is $120 each.

More about this rescue

Homeward Bound WV, Inc., is a unique, non-profit organization dedicated to saving cats whose lives are in jeopardy and in enriching the lives of people in Preston and Monongalia Counties. We are a 100% foster organization.

We believe in:

Rescuing cats in need at local kill facilities, rehabilitation of sick and un-socialized animals, and retrieval of orphaned and abandoned pets, so that they might ultimately be adopted into permanent, responsible, loving homes.
Providing a low cost spay/neuter program (through the generosity of the Peterman Foundation and reduced fees at local veterinary clinics) for the people of Preston and Monongalia Counties for the purpose of reducing unwanted births and unfortunate deaths of animal offspring.
Providing nurturing foster homes where our cats are provided an enormous amount of love and any necessary medical attention that may be required to insure they are in good health before adoption.
Evaluating all of our cats for temperament and personality. This helps us place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.
Educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog or cat into their homes and lives.
Educating school-aged children about stray, homeless, and feral animals and how they can help with the kind treatment of these animals in their neighborhoods.
Working with area shelters and other rescue/humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
Facilitating the relocation and transport of homeless pets from kill shelters to other rescue organizations.
