** Poppy is currently in the shelter! She is available for foster or adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **
Meet Poppy, the sweetest dog you`ll ever meet! Her joyful smile and loving nature will brighten your day, and she’s always ready with extra kisses when you need them most. Poppy is a cuddle expert and a proud couch queen who loves snuggling under blankets while her gentle snoring makes the perfect white noise.
Poppy adores people and is a social butterfly on walks, greeting everyone she meets with enthusiasm and a big smile. She`s house trained, crate trained, and knows when it’s time to go outside. Poppy is a calm and content companion, and she’s proven to be an angel when left alone at home. She`s also previously lived with kids!
Poppy is a sweetie, and we think her ideal home could be a leashed walks or a backyard kinda spot. She`s handled the leash life with clear communication, redirection and a little management. Other dogs stress her out so much that she warbles. Yard time is more relaxing and that`s where we see her at her silliest. She loves to chase the water hose. She likes to perch up high on picnic tables.
Looking for a laid-back Food Network buddy or a loyal friend to share your days with? Poppy is your girl. Poppy brings endless joy and love to anyone lucky enough to meet her. Ready to welcome this sweet girl into your life?

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
