Meet Feather! This little lady may be as light as her name, but we're certain you'll fall hard for her loving antics and silly personality. Feather has never met a stranger; everyone she sees is an instant friend, and she's always stopping on walks to wiggle her way over for pets and affection from everyone she meets. This sweet girl just wants a home where she can be spoiled rotten with attention and treats. And honestly, we WANT to spoil her. Look at that cute face! How can you NOT want to give that cute little face every ounce of affection in the world? Since Feather is so little, she'd like to meet any potential doggy roommates before you adopt to make sure they won't accidentally smush her. If Feather sounds like a good fit for you, come see her today!
I will be unavailable to meet you on Thursday, May 16th. I am visiting my friends in the Veterinary Services Department that day. Please visit with me another time.

You’ll meet an Adoption Counselor to go over applications and discuss the animal you’re considering. We work with you to ensure your family, home and new family member is a perfect fit.
2. We’ll review all the documents and permissions (support from other adults in home, landlord permission and home ownership verification).
3. If your adoption is approved, your new pet can go home with you the same day providing they have had their spay/neuter surgery. If they haven't had their surgery yet, we will let you know when their surgery is scheduled and you can usually pick them up the next day.

For 133 years, the Capital Area Humane Society has been sheltering homeless animals, fighting animal cruelty and neglect, and offering programs to address the needs of animals in our community. More than 92 percent of our funding is provided by donations and fees for services. We are not a government agency, and we do not receive general operating support from national organizations. The Capital Area Humane Society relies on the support of private donors and volunteers to make our work possible.
Since 1883 the Capital Area Humane Society has been dedicated to providing only the highest quality of care for everyone we serve, animals and people alike. We are a team of experts—skilled, caring and compassionate people dedicated to our mission of fighting animal cruelty, helping animals in need and advocating for their well-being.
Our Mission
To fight animal cruelty, help animals in need and advocate for their well-being.
Our Vision
All animals live free of suffering and all companion animals are valued members of loving and caring families.
