Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi world, Meet Addie! Addie is unfortunately coming up at 90 days at AAC at the beginning of August, a milestone we hoped to never reach. We are hoping that Addie can land a foster or adopter (could it be you!?) to appreciate her kind personality and easy going temperament.
Addie is a great walker on leash, as she walks calm and loosely. She is known to LOVE cuddles, belly rubs and pets. She is a smart gal too, and when given a treat, she is happy to show you that she can sit on command. She is reported to be dog friendly, as she enjoys playgroup time, so she can possibly live in a home with another pup. To ensure compatibility on everyone`s end, we will host a doggy meet and greet at AAC with your resident dog.
Addie is only 1 year young which means she is very impressionable. Together, you will be able to create a lasting bond from her early years and you will be able to shape and mold her behavior. Still, adopting a 1 year old pup comes with many benefits like her temperament being well formed. She doesn`t have puppy energy like a young teething pup, so you will likely skip some of those challenging times but still appreciate her youthfulness. Addie is a complete charmer and we know that she deserves a loving home! Are you ready to open your heart to this sweetie?

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
